Maggie Vincent
General Manager – Operations

Maggie has over 35 years experience in supporting children and adults with disabilities, both within government and non-government sectors.  The past 20 of those years has been with Interaction.

Maggie has managed both group home accommodation  models as well as a residential setting for 60 children and young adults with her main focus been on the transition of all 60 residents into small group community based accommodation options.

In her current position with Interaction, Maggie oversees Accommodation (High Support and Drop in Services), Direct Support and Support Coordination services.  Maggie is also part of Interaction’s Executive team. Her qualifications include Diploma Community Services (Disabilities) Certificate 1V Community Services Disabilities, Certificate 111 Community Services Disabilities, Graduate Certificate Educational Studies (Disabilities), Diploma in Frontline Management, Certificate in Workplace Assessment and Training, Advanced Welfare Certificate.

Maggie is committed to providing quality services for the people we support.

Helen Amos
NDIS Services Manager

Helen has been an invaluable part of the team for almost 20 years!  Part of Helen’s responsibilities include overseeing the intake and allocation of new participants and liaising with participants, families and other organisations when they are looking for a particular type of support. Helen loves seeing the people we serve reach their goals – such an important moment – it inspires us all to keep doing the things we do.

Helen holds a BA in Community Welfare, and a BA Honours 1st Class in Social Science.  Her passion of working with parents with intellectual disability inspired her research on ‘Parents with Intellectual Disability and the Child Protection Process’.  Outside of the workplace Helen has recently completed a 60km walk in just under 14 hours, helping to raise over $5000 for the Fred Hollows Foundation.  Helen loves hiking and history, she’s planning to combine these interests by hiking from one side of Britain to the other, on a history trail based on the Tudor period.

Damien Jones
Senior Manager – Accommodation & Shared Living

This role involves managing our high-level support properties, and staff in that area.  Damien is one of quite a few long timers here at Interaction – having been with us for 11 years.

Damien is currently doing his PhD, researching how the NDIS is impacting the professional identity of managers working for NFPs. In his spare time, Damien can be seen driving his three teenagers around Sydney to their many social events.

Rachel Carey
Senior Manager – Accommodation & Shared Living

Rachel has been with Interaction for three years.  Her main responsibilities are:  working alongside the people we support, stakeholders, management and front line staff to oversee the operations of Interaction group housing facilities – in particular High Support within both the PWS and general disability space.  She ensures her team provides high quality service, to create an empowering work environment that is performance driven with an engaged staff culture, and encourages teamwork through communication and innovation.

In 2018, Rachel participated in a complex and comprehensive PWS training program, run by two of the most internationally recognised professionals in the PWS community – Dr Hodebeck Stuntebeck and Dr Hubert Soyer.

Rachel says what she loves most about her job is the challenge, but most importantly having impact.  Seeing the people we support living the life they desire, achieving goals, learning new skills, growing and being happy.  To support not only our participants, but the staff through challenges and obstacles to achieve positive outcomes.

According to Rachel, this role has been the biggest achievement in her professional career thus far. She has been working within the community services sector alongside people with a range of disabilities, mental health and early intervention for ten plus years.  Straight out of high school with a fascination for mental health she completed her Bachelor degree in Social Science, then applied for a job in mental health and fell into disability instead.  She has never looked back, and could never envision her life doing anything else.

Outside of work, given that Rachel’s favourite past-time is shopping – her local Westfields is probably where you will find her!  She also enjoys sport, and tries to get in as much family/friend time as she can – especially if it involves a cheeky apple martini…

Toufic Rached
House Manager

Toufic is one of Interaction’s invaluable House Managers who has been with us for over ten years.

With a very impressive twenty-six years in the Disability sector, Toufic has even work in the Special Olympics as a coach, supporting and helping clients compete at an international level.

Given Toufic’s energetic history, it’s no surprise that his interests outside of the workplace are sports of all kinds (with a bit of heavy metal thrown in).

Eileen Rostron
Team Leader

Eileen’s role is Team Leader at one of Interaction’s Shared Independent Living houses, where she and other staff take care of two young men who have Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS).

Eileen had her own business for many years, but in 2000 she decided on a career change and started working with teenagers – high risk young people with extreme mental health and behaviour issues.

Eileen entered the disability sector in 2005, and started with Interaction on a casual basis in 2008.  She started working with her first participant with PWS during 2013, and hasn’t looked back.  Eileen is committed to working with people who have PWS – particularly in the young adult stage of life, helping them develop a healthy life style, and improving their life skills.

Eileen recently completed Interaction’s PWS professional training module to refresh, update and improve on her skills.  She gets complete satisfaction out of knowing how much she helps the two young men in her care (and their families), and that the families have full trust leaving their love ones in the care of her and her team.

Outside of Interaction, Eileen enjoys her garden, travel and experiencing new cultures.  Her joy is her children and the (ten!) beautiful grandchildren they have given her.

Anthony Holzworth
Team Leader

Anthony has been employed by Interaction for two years.  As a Team Leader he coordinates with staff to create a happy, healthy and positive environment for our participants. The team and I have been working with our guys for quite a while now and take immense satisfaction and pride in assisting their development and helping them accomplish their goals.

Anthony loves getting to know the guys and their families. Seeing a participant reach their goals and helping them to lead happier lives, as well as knowing that we’re helping to reduce the stresses and fears in the families’ lives makes the job worth it, even in the toughest of times.

Previously, Anthony worked within the Corrective Services sector in the United States. He transitioned into the disability field as it was far more suited to his professional desire – that is to be doing something helpful and positive with his work life.  Anthony has completed extensive training in communication and crisis management, and had the pleasure of going through the recent ‘Understanding PWS – Professional Carer Training’ that Interaction hosted with International trainers.

Outside of work you’ll usually see Anthony exploring the great cafes of Sydney, or going up to the Blue Mountains to go off-roading or bushwalking.
